USA go nationwide
The USA's premiere kids programme and SnowKidz join forces
Over the last 9 years Learn to Ski and Snowboard has undergone numerous evolutions, but one thing remains consistent. As soon as the topic of the future snow sports comes up with any US snow sports stakeholder this is the first programme which is mentioned. In 2017 the programme underwent its latest evolution and clearly defined its role, direction and goals, something which programme coordinator Mary Jo Tarallo stands firmly behind. Now in January 2018 the programme is back with its key action - Learn to Ski and Snowboard Month – and has partnered with FIS SnowKidz.
Each year for the month of January, Learn to Ski and Snowboard works with over 60 resorts throughout the US to host actions to make getting into snow sports easier. All actions or open to all members of the public and usually offer heavily discounted lessons, lift passes and rental equipment. Some Organiser go a step further and offer additional incentives for members of the public who bring a friend. These include discounted lift passes and in the case of Swain Mountain Resort, NY the chance to win a free season pass.
To discover each of the offers from the resorts one needs only to log onto www.learntoskiandsnowboard.org
and hit the special offers page. Whilst on the website members of the public will also find help tips and tricks for getting into snow sports, discounts on equipment and deals on lift passes outside of January.
FIS Bring Children to the Snow Coordinator Andrew Cholinski commented “This is the US’s prime programme to bring a new generation to snow sports. We encourage all members of the public and resort to get on board.”
